Once upon a time, a person discerned her God-given dream to be a teacher and decided to volunteer in a classroom.
Once upon a time, a family opened their house and hearts to a stranger.
Romans 12:13 "share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality."
5 years ago, I was 19...young, innocent, the world dangling at my fingertips. I was in need. I had flown away from my Cpep nest.
5 years later, we (family and one time stranger) sat listening to the Pastor explain these words.
T & D absolutely practice hospitality.
They did not have to. They did not welcome me under their wing because they never limited me. But, yes, they gratefully welcomed me into their nest where they have shared much with me. Granted I am never far, but this weekend I flew back.
But, for some reason greater than our understanding it worked.
I gained a family, they gained a daughter. And, I love them.
I had been looking forward to this weekend for months. All 3 girls were performing in their own things. There was no agenda except the girls' agenda. Lovely.
It was a breath of fresh air. Relaxing. A taste of summer.
I was sharing that it's hard to explain this to people unless you witness it so usually I just say I'm heading to Cville.
Ellen once wrote in an email 'watching you with the W**** was so touching..."
Like Jesus, they are so selfless to welcome me into their family as one of their own. Teaching, mentoring, encouraging, and supporting me ( and my friends). They are growing the church.
This weekend was another perfect example of the harvest that can be brought in after 5 years of tending to the seed on all accounts.
And, they lived happily ever after...
