Staying Connected

I am puzzled about what to write; I guess I am really more puzzled about why Anne volunteered me to be her guest blogger while she is at Cult Camp.  Yep, that’s really how it was…no, “Sure Anne, I’d love to!” or “Wow Anne, what an opportunity. Thanks!”  It was sorta one of those “here ya go” things and all of sudden I’m committed to something I don’t really remember saying yes to in the first place.  Gee thanks Anne.

I like blogs.  Let me rephrase that, I like reading the blogs of other people.  I am also a self-confessed FB stalker. It’s just not as challenging as it used to be to sneak a peek at someone’s diary.  Blogs and FB postings put it all out there for anyone and everyone to read; very often with way too much info!  Not to mention full color pictures illustrating it all. What are these people thinking?!?  Are they thinking?  This is where I should put a few samples of the perfectly ridiculous things I see on FB but if you spend any time on FB you’ve seen them all in some form or another already.  It’s ridiculous, funny, shocking, unbelievable, mundane, nonsensical and so many more ways to describe it all.
The reason Aunt Linda began FBing in the first place.
On a more positive note, blogs and FB also keep me connected with family members and friends I don’t get to see often.  I love being able to peek into the windows of their lives to share the joy and sadness affecting them and by the phenomenon known as social media, me too.
Somewhere in my very clouded, getting-older-everyday memory rings these words, “Don’t put into print anything you aren’t prepared to defend in a court of law or in front of the good Lord on judgment day.” Yikes!  So, while I usually don’t hesitate to express my opinion verbally putting into print what’s rattling around in my head gives me pause. As far as judgment day goes, I figure I’ll have plenty of explaining to do – print or no print.  I think my best bet here is to just tell some stories…I've got a million or more; just ask Anne.  She’s had to sit through several.  I also somewhat sadly admit, this means I know I am getting to be old; fewer years ahead of me than behind me.  Old people have stories you have to sit through.

But heck, I’ve lived a lot of life. So, tomorrow here goes…
Moral of the Story: Don’t put into print anything you aren’t prepared to defend in a court of law or in front of the good Lord on judgment day. Oh yeah, channeling a little Anne here – staying connected with technology rocks!
