What do your shoes say about you?

Today, I was doing a lesson on 'good-fit books' and how books really only work for us if we have interest, purpose, can comprehend it, and know most of the words. Can you say Daily 5?

Anyway at 5:15 AM, I grabbed random shoes and bailed to the gym. Who knows what I grabbed?

Don't worry I didn't grab a snake.

So, there I was delving deep with kiddos about how cool reading is, the urgency of it, and how to pick 'good fit books.'

I have soccer cleats because I wore them during field hockey. Field hockey interests me, while I couldn't wear these to play golf which doesn't interest me.

Little House on the Prairie interests me while Harry Potter does not.

Me: Why do you think I have this high heel?
Students: For a date.

Welp, you're right kiddos. The high heel could fit that purpose.

Anyway, I got to thinking while all the shoes were lined up.  What do your shoes say about you? My kids could easily describe my interests and purposes all because of my shoes.

Moral of the Story: Who is that person that walks in your shoes? Who do those shoes fit?
