Back in August, I remember telling a colleague that it wouldn't be until the first of October that I'd feel like I'd be running in routine as far as the classroom is concerned. Once running in routine, I can get ahead in terms of planning. I can start to look past the day-to-day operations and week-by-week view to the vision of the month and year.
Well, darned if the first week of October just passed and it felt awesome.
For the first time, I'm 2 weeks ahead in terms of copies and guided reading books. I'm thinking of Halloween and what to do with the kiddos. The kids are routinized. I know their personalities. It's so cool.
Exhale. It's a beautiful thing. It really is.
Anyway...
This was also a beautiful thing...
A crisp, fall Friday. Glorious weather. Not a cloud in the sky. The sun warming your skin. Slight breeze.
And, field hockey games!!!
Just a great match. Like PB & J.
Speaking of great matches, Schu and I are too. Opposite but the same.
Plus, it was PINK OUT day at school (along with a few others in Cpep)...jeans & fighting cancer. A great match.
Moral of the Story: Another great match...Friday night & Pizza! I love great matches!
