Steve Jobs, Thank You

Steve Jobs passed away tonight.
I thank him for...

...being a visionary in a world that is quick to shut these people down.

...for battling cancer valiantly and drama-free.

...changing my life.

It very rarely that one person can impact someone's day-to-day life.

However, because of Steve Jobs' leadership and vision...I use my Macbook Pro, iTouch, iPhone, iPod often.

I can say I might be dependent on them.

They are all named after varieties of apples.

Fuji Braeburn, the computer.

Blacktwig, the iPhone.

I use my computer to check the newspaper first thing in the morning, make movies, blog, stay in contact with the world, and edit music.

I used my iTouch to signal every transition in my classroom and for background music. That equals hours of my day.

I use my iPhone as my mapquest navigator on the road, camera, videocamera, text messager, emailer for school and personal, Bible, random quotes, Kindle, etc.

Moral of the Story: I can only hope to change the life of someone I know. Steve Jobs did the extraordinary. He changed the life of someone he didn't know. Thank you.

At a 2005 commencement address at Stanford University, Jobs shared the philosophy that drove him.
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life,” Jobs said. “Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
