Christmas Eve Traditions

I like traditions. And, I'm ok with making new ones.

But, Christmas Eve dinner at Momma's where you're so stuffed but you just can't stop. One more of this, one more of that.

The candlelight service at church with my uncle, aunt, and cousins will never get old. Especially, when your 8th grade male cousin sings when the preacher says 'children sing.' Slightly heartbreaking. Slightly hysterical.

These 2 traditions I cling too. They represent Christmas for me.

Family, food and fellowship. For the latter, family, friends, and Jesus.

I'm ok with making new traditions. This year, I'm typing this post from my home of 24 years. The dogs and I are all cuddled up waiting for the goodness of tomorrow.

I'm sleeping in my childhood room with Banco who came home with me 10 years ago tonight after receiving him in a stocking from my aunt and uncle.

Here are some glimpses from Christmas Eve.

Moral of the Story: It's always amazing to me that God came to Earth as a human. This always helps me in my journey because Jesus can relate. What a humble way for Jesus to come here. Not in a crown, but in a manger. He came to be with us. Emmanuel.

This is what I'm working with. A twin bed, 2 dogs who want the middle, and we always make it work...usually peacefully. Although, Portis head under the bed for an hour tonight. But, we all get sleep.
