On this shortest day of the year, I...

I...

...felt like it was the longest.

...put my big girl panties on and had a post-settlement walkthrough of the house. I just love the lingo of houses. Diverters? eh?  I always remember that my Grams always said I'd have a house by 25. I draw strength from her belief in me since I was little.

...experienced the DMV for the first time since  about 10 years ago when I got my learner's. If you ever want to see a snapshot of America, then go chill in the DMV for 5 minutes.

...was asked where I was raised. It was assumed I was raised in the deep south, since I was the only one all year who put his/her hair color as sandy blonde at the DMV. They accepted it.

...watched Prince William make some moves on the Today show. Thank you! He reaffirms that it's all about whether you're having a good time, not what you look like.

...had dinner with the whole family. I just love talking about hearing the economics of the US from my bro. I support that he's passionate about it. But, I surely am not.

...love watching snapshots of the year. It's amazing how much occurs in a year and how a day can be so life changing.

...soaked up all the goodness of the UVA bowl game that's up ahead. WAHOOWA.

...had Banco delivered home.  God Bless his soul. He's been on sensory overload as he checks out his new digs. What I love about him is that although he turned the big 10 this year, he acts like a puppy. (Some would say this is bad.). At this moment, he's sitting on the sofa behind my neck trying to lick my face. He reminds me that we're supposed to have child-like faith and never lose sight of the excitedness and newness that everything brings. Nothing is plain nor should be overlooked.

Moral of the Story: It was on this longest day of the year, that I saw America and felt how it feels to have your big girl panties on at one moment but to be a child at another moment.
