Tebow

To be frank, I don't know this kid. I call him kid and we're the same age. I haven't followed him nor the Broncos. I can only tell you that I'm okay when the Steelers don't win because I think there is too much yellow and black south of DC.  However, I don't root for or against them. I know the Redskins didn't have a great season. I know that I used to love Brett Favre until he cheated on his wife. And, I couldn't tell you who played in the Super Bowl last year. I do go to Super Bowl parties but I enjoy the chatting and good food and halftime. I do not own an NFL jersey.

I'm  fan of college football and basketball much more. Where they don't get paid millions, underdog stories occur, and student-athletes are receiving an education.

I do know this. Tim Tebow lights up Facebook. And, he's a Christian.

I 'wikipedia-ed' him a few weeks ago. Just so, I'd have background knowledge.

The night began with this text to me..."I think you would appreciate Tim Tebow's tenacity. Sorta the poster child for not hiding his beliefs in being a Christian."

Presently, a friend's facebook status is "one day jack will watch tonight's game tape and understand why his middle name is tebow."

Say what?!

How much influence does this character have on lives?

The most recent 25 Facebook statuses are about Tebow.

I shared with my mom today, "I love deep people. I'd rather be in conversation with someone I disagree with yet who has a backbone than someone who is 1-dimensional and has no stances on anything."

Debate turns society.

There you have it.

Remember that old adage or country song...'stand for something or you'll fall for anything.'

Moral of the Story: Here's to you Tim Tebow. You stand for something. Fully stand for something. I'd like to invite you to dinner just for that.
