Word #2 for the Year: Abide

Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines abide a few ways:

  • to endure without yielding
  • to bear patiently
  • to accept without objection
  • to remain stable
  • to continue in a place
Abide will be such a part of my year.

To endure without yielding applies to preparing 22 Smart Cookies for 4 standardized tests in May. To endure without yielding quite simply applies to daily life.

To bear patiently as I endure my blessings throughout the year. There are seasons for everything. To bear patiently quite simply applies to daily life.

To accept without objection the ups and downs and all arounds of life. To accept without objection can be trying in daily life.

To remain stable. Hopefully, I'll remain mentally stable. But, to me this means to make sure to dive deep in the areas of life that I have passion for while maintaining already built foundations. The foundations of my life cannot crumble or crack. I must make them remain stable.

To continue in a place. Well, God-willingly I'll continue in a this house and continue to make it a home.

Moral of the Story: Abide. Sounds so pleasant yet challenging.
