- It's Sunday night.
- I've been up since 5 AM on Saturday.
- My friend got us free tickets to the Alan Jackson concert in Mineral. It was a benefit concert for the schools after the earthquake.
- My friend I met because we both went through the Lovetown USA process together.
- Well, I came to find out on Sunday that she had also invited this guy that she just thought we 'd be perfect together.
- Well, he had called me a few times at the beginning of lax season. But, didn't leave a voicemail so I wasn't calling him back.
- So, he brought a new girl he'd discovered since I saw him last at the Thai restaurant with another girl.
Anyway, there I sat in slight deliriousness due to the overall goodness/intensity of Relay and the fact that I would be one of 6,000 that would see Alan Jackson in smalltown Louisa County High School's parking lot. WOOHOO!
I know all the words to Alan's songs. Hometown sweetness.
And, then I had to travel with a guy that basically I was supposed to have a first date with but was practically watching their first date.
I was at peace. The weather was beautiful. But, I was entirely entertained by this situation and had to stare straight ahead as I laughed in my head and heart. God bless his soul.
I give Louisa so many props. At the beginning of the school year, I was cowering between bookshelves to finishing the school year going to a benefit concert for Mineral. We never waited. We were shuttled in on buses and shuttled out. Smooth and fluid.
I'm gonna start going to Mineral rather than Nissan.
The weather was glorious. The people-watching was amazing. And, don't forget the company I was with was more than entertaining. Then, to add Alan. Plus, it was healing for the town's folks. Kumbayah, my Lord.
I felt like I was on the final day of the week build of Extreme Makeover addition. It was a cool thing.
Moral of the Story: Our bus driver said it best, 'people help'n people...ain't a bad thing.'
