- I feel like I'm Clinging. Grasping. Holding. Squeezing onto summer. Trying to get every moment out of it I can.
- I had a coaches meeting this morning at the high school. It's all good but it signals a new school year.
- It's hot and I like it. The dog days of summer.
- Confession: I like watching my neighbors on the street behind me. It's about 5 kiddos in the house, they must go to my school. And, all they do is run, twist, jump into about a 5 feet wide by 2 feet pool. They even clean their feet off in a cooler filled with water. I can hear their laughter. It's exactly how summer should be.
- What's summer about in my life? Spontaneous afternoons. Visiting my Grams with my Momma. Then, inviting Daddy over for a thrown-together dinner. Walking with a friend. Then, front-porch sitting with another friend. Clinging to the sweet moments of summer.
- Fin-man turned 1 yesterday. How can this be? I cannot wrap my brain around the fact that my dear childhood friend is married, pursuing God, and has a 1 year-old.
- Tomatoes from my father's garden. Sweet Summertime.
- Bought a plane ticket to Hot Atlanta (which is actually cooler than here) to visit Kat and hit up the UVA vs. GT game this fall.
- Front-porch sittin' included comfy chairs, a great friend, cold strawberries, nature talking, and a fan with an extension cord. Sweet Summertime.
- The Staples Penny Deals aren't as awesome this year for teachers. Yet, I got 4 bottles of Expo Whiteboard Remover for $4 total!
- I've been cashing in on gift cards lately.
- I can down hummus and wheat thins.
- I'm only brave when I have to be. It doesn't mean I go looking for trouble.
Moral of the Story: 1 month of summer left.
