Most of you will find this post useless, know that I have wanted to create this post ever since I started blogging.
After almost 3 years of blogging, it took 3 snow days to get it done.
Thankfully, in 3 years, technology has jumped leaps and bounds, while the skill of the 'plop' has remained the same.
Thanks to PhotoBooth and Layout for getting this done, while the hair and the hair tie receive just as much praise.
Here's how to get THE 'plop.'
Materials: hair (at least shoulder length) & hair tie (not too tight or too loose)
A hair tie can be determined as 'too tight' if it leaves a ring on your wrist. A hair tie can be determined as 'to loose' if it has stretched at the seam and now dangles around your wrist. Never underestimate the power of a good ol' hair tie.
 |
Step 1: Have hair at least shoulder-length. The longer the hair, the more the height.
Step 2: Tilt chin down, have hair tie on left wrist, pull all hair gently up.
Step 3: Flip head over, while fully grasping all hair tightly.
Step 4: Take right hand away, making sure left hand is firmly grasping all hair.
|
 |
Step 5: Using right hand, pull hair tie over entire mass of hair. Naturally, a loop of hair has formed. Your left hand is still holding the original mass of hair, while your right hand is now hovering about 4 inches higher than your right eye.
Step 6: Your right hand twists the hair tie once. Your right hand reverses direction and goes back over the loop of hair. Naturally, two loops of hair have formed and should feel tighter.
Step 7 (Optional): Pat your hair. This is a 'me' thing. This step could be skipped.
Step 8 (Optional): Tuck in the loose end of the hair. This step is only needed if your hair is really, really long.

 |
Step 9: Carefully, flip back up. Be cognizant of blood flow and medicine cabinets.
