Christmas Day 2013

Christmas Day arrived crisply. The temperatures were below freezing, but the warmth inside my parents' home shone warmly.

Daddy and I, the early birds of the family, relaxed before everyone woke up.

Daddy on Solitaire giving me updates. Anni on the Today Show giving updates.
Momma made her traditional Christmas breakfast on her Christmas plates.

This year, we had a visitor to the family for the holidays. Artsiom is staying at my parents for the Christmas break. Artsiom or 'Stak' as we call him is from Belarus and is one of my brother's former tennis players.

Stak added some perspective to Christmas day. His inquisitive spirit (I think he's trying to figure out Americans) and comments added to the day. While we were getting ready to open gifts, he said "Worth, you like a little kid." I thought, how true.

I spent the middle of the day outside and organizing. Then, I watched the perennial marathon of Christmas Story for the first time ever. I really enjoyed it.

For the evening, the family came to my house for a big Chinese food dinner.

Moral of the Story: Christmas was filled with full bellies, laughter, and warm hearts of family.
