The 100th Day of School is still exciting in 3rd grade. It's even more exciting when my father surprises me with a breakfast sandwich from Old Country Store.
But, the absolute highlight of my day was stopping in to check on Daddy teaching first graders receiving special education. The students were draped in their 100th Day of School capes wearing colorful crowns of objects grouped in tens. They were all whispering reading "I want to..." while Daddy was reading as if he were a melody. They loved him.
Moral of the Story:
Daddy-(to the Smart Cookies) "Do you know what the 100th Day of School means?"
Smart Cookies-"100 days of learning!"
Daddy-"No, only 80 more days of learning to go!"
