Southern Hospitality

"Get up you lazy mama," I heard as I just settled myself into the swinging hammock today (the last day of spring break)with a NASCAR Harlequin Romance. It was Momma Pilot! She had stopped by with Chicken Enchiladas and homemade Lemon Bread as a friendly gesture. She had told us that her family was having this meal for Easter. Momma wanted me to ask her for the recipe. Now, we have it!

Momma Pilot has been such a mentor and friend during my first year of teaching. She helps me out, shares everything, brings me Diet Cokes when I secretly am craving one, and has been such moral support.

Momma, Momma Pilot, and I sat on the patio and shot the breeze for an hour enjoying the weather and the last bits of freedom.

Moral of the story: A simple, friendly gesture makes ones feel loved and appreciated.
