After the past week of being reminded daily by random people that I had no 'love interest,' today was marked by feel'n the love by random people ironically. Isn't God so funny?! (slight, sarcasm).
The day was marked with being surrounded by friend at church including one of my gym friends. I loved when she asked if she could sit with me, I couldn't move over fast enough for her.
Today marked the 80th birthday celebration of my Grams (another blog, another time). But, the whole family traveled in to celebrate the journey of life she has navigated. What an inspiration? What love has been manifested over the years as everyone has taken different paths?
The afternoon was spent shooting the breeze with my cousins which is interesting because there has always been a gap between due to the age difference, geographical difference, and the I-was-always-at-UVA difference. So, I loved hearing about their lives and having them ask me for advice. Granted it was relationship advice. How cool it is to love them?
The evening was marked with a Christmas Party for the YoungLife leaders/committee. Yes, a party on a Sunday night for this teacher. I really enjoyed hanging out, sharing inspiring moments that happening in young people's lives, and playing white elephant. I traded and got a gift that I can give Worth (he'll never know, as long as I peel the Goodwill sticker off). What a true, pure love there was?
I definitely felt loved by friends, family, and God after a day like today.
After doting on my love cloud, I tripped and fell into the house. Ok, I confess, I busted it. And, yes, I am pretty sure another finger bit the dust.
But, what was I carrying in my hand...a stocking filled to the brim with wrapped gifts from some awesome YL supporters. So, there was love in the midst of it all.
Moral of the Story: John 15:13...I couldn't help but think of this scripture as I laid rolling on the kitchen floor holding my finger.
Greater Love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
What a day! And what a God! I am reading a nightly advent book to the girls and tonight our scripture reading was 1 John 4:16...God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
