As a working adult, I feel as though Mondays could be the most dreaded day of the week. Heck, they are for most people. Listen to the radio talk show hosts in the morning. Check out the frowning person in the cubicle next you.
I'll begin providing tidbits that I use to make my Mondays one of my most favorite days of the week. I know, but believe it!
Tidbit for Magnificent Mondays #1: On Sundays, say "Yes! Another Monday! Another week to try again to delve deeper into life, relationships, and learning." On Sundays, DO NOT say "Yes! Another week of packing breakfast and lunch in 'green' containers so that I have to wash/dry and clean them all including the lids that seem to always be lost! Another week of packing all my outfits in my gym bag/never taking a shower at home because the gym shower is my home!"
Tidbit for Magnificent Mondays #2: What Not to Wear...DO NOT wear anything tight that may cause a roll in your belly. Not a good way to start off another 'healthy week' pursuit. DO NOT wear heels that make you feel uncomfortable (ok, that's any day). DO NOT have a fun, cool hair-do because it will be ruined within the first 15 mins as students hug, cling, or use you as a tissue. What to Wear...this...this was happily worn from 6:45 AM to 8:45 PM.
"The Perfect Monday Wardrobe"
- Hair: Messy, flexible style...the hair was down, up, and all around today.
- Turtleneck: Mondays are hug days. Monday are lean over and explain days. Modesty is best.
- Layers: Always a must in a climate that is unpredictable.
- Dark Shirt/Skirt: Hide the snot smears, glue stains, dripping oranges, etc. Turtleneck-Old Navy years ago $3.99...Skirt-LOFT $9.99 on clearance
- Sweater vest: Adds a light accent color to try to highlight the earth tones. Length hides lower back when bending over. Eddie Bauer-$9.99 on clearance.
- Scarf: Add a touch of elegance and flavor. Found in the parking lot of a bar. I washed it...twice.
- Wicked Good LLBean boots: 2 words-comfort & warmth! LLBean $50 with a gift card.
- Smile: You never know who's looking.
Moral of the Story: Say yes! to Mondays!
God bless you. That scarf comment almost made me crack up in the middle of a quiet coffee shop. I loved this blog post!
