Gumby Yoga

The first yoga class I went to, Jenna and I almost got kicked out for laughing too hard.

Peaceful music, calm voices, getting in touch with your inner self...say what?

Whispering commands, gentle relaxation, no competition, no finish line...say what?

I'm in love with every other Friday morning. So in love that I willingly wake up 15 minutes earlier than usual.

I'm savoring Yoga for Athletes at the local gym.

Peaceful music, calm voices, getting in touch with my inner self, whispering commands, gentle relaxation, no competition, and no finish line is exactly what the doctor orders on a Friday morning.

After the class, I felt 100% physically, mentally, and spiritually strengthened yet rejuvenated. My body felt like Gumby.

It's a huge change from the girl who almost would fail her physical fitness tests not because I couldn't do a pull-up but because of my lack of flexibility.

As I blog, I can still feel how my feet have spread apart after tapping into those pressure points and my 'fasha.'

Moral of the Story: Yoga is the practice of quieting the mind. And, today I feel like I gained a 3-day weekend from it. What a beautiful day it was.
