I knew on Saturday it would be my day...to do whatever I wanted to do. And, did I savor it.
I realized I was only home enough this week to sleep and then for 2 other hours. Not too good.
Things I Wanted to Do:
- wear comfy clothes
- run 4 miles
- attend family breakfast (been outta town the last 3 Saturdays)
- browse Target with no agenda
- learn how to make meatballs
- clean my room
- try a new homemade brownie recipe
- see King's Speech with friends (had Ellen, future SLP, written all over it)
- catch My Big Redneck Wedding on CMT
- listen to new country music
- catch up on blog reading
- read, read, read
Only Kat told me she took a 'personal' day herself today amidst the swamped-ness of grad school. I took a 'personal' day today amidst the swamped-ness of life.
Moral of the Story: Ovid said it best, "Take rest; a field that has rested gives a bountiful crop."
#1 is a no brainer...no matter if you're home for 5 minutes or 5 hours. Life is too short to not be in comfy clothes as much as possible.
ReplyDeleteAnd you must...must tackle #5. You can make a gazillion at a time and whenever you need a quick dinner you boil up some pasta, heat up some sauce and throw in a few meatballs (or make a sub with fresh onions and peppers). Yum!
