While waiting in line at CJ's to give them a purple bow, a person asked me whether we were doing this all over town.
We got into a conversation about Relay For Life. She had participated in Southwest Virginia and was excited to be back at Relay. Her 21 year-old nephew had just passed away to cancer. While we were discussing her memories of past Relays, I commented that it's definitely an 'emotional ebb and flow' throughout the event.
Then, she commented, 'isn't life that way?'
I stopped right in my tracks. Darn it is.
I immediately hugged her and with Anni-excitement told her 'she was my new best friend.'
She is so right.
The past week had been nothing buy ebb & flow of emotions. The contractions were sometimes far apart yet at other times on a 5 minute rotation.
I love learning from people older than me. I love their advice. I love that knowledge, depth, and experience they can draw on to unwrap situations for me.
