Smalltown Saturday

Saturday was fun...

I rose with the sun to pick up some Chik-Fil-A and to help some friends/Park & Rec with their 5K.

Off to Bank Day for Relay which was very successful...people came, t-shirts were delivered, money turned in, and the infamous campsite selection went very peaceful.

Then, it was time to Paint the Town Purple. Thank goodness for great friends who want to help and support a cause. This was a true example of people coming together to get something done within 24 hours. High schoolers to Liz (my co-coach/art teacher) to teacher friends to Committee members to the random person I saw at CJ's who offered to take a shopping center helped paint Culpeper Purple.

It's pretty cool to see probably a hundred big purple ribbons outside all the business and the big HOPE signs bring home the purpose.

Then, it was off to dinner with Liz's parents who were in town. We went to a new joint who are big Relay supporters but even better they had NASCAR on and country music playing. The company, burgers, and drink brought home a great Saturday.

Then, we went out with coach friends which was fun and something I really haven't done before. So, check that off the list of stepping outside my box.

Moral of the Story: Today was a day filled with community. I'm thankful to be apart of so many different little communities.
