30 Years, Countless Lives Changed

I just finished my 2nd year of teaching.

My dad just finished his 30th years of teaching. Can you imagine? I can't.

And, we've been celebrating for a week.

It's all been well deserved.

Not only has Daddy taught for 30 years but he has coached swimming, soccer, softball, basketball, football, and I'm sure I'm leaving a sport off.

Not only has Daddy coached so many teams, but he has taught at all 3 levels, a feat that most teachers can't claim. He taught elementary for 24 years, high school for 2 years, and middle school for 4 years.

Not only has Daddy taught and coached, but he has modeled character, integrity, forgiveness, hope, love, determination, humility, giving, and passion for 30 years worth of students, parents, and colleagues.

As my brother said in his toast to my Dad, in W's 3 years back in Cpep as an adult he has yet to meet someone who doesn't have a positive story to share about Daddy or the impact on his/her life or family.

I can only hope to be like my father and carry on the tradition.

Moral of the Story: Here's to you Daddy. He's been my biggest cheerleader and one to some many people, well now it's time for me to cheer you on!  You made a difference...countless times.

Always sharing...taking my cousins to the garden to take 'plants' as they called it back to Maryland.
