Falling Humility

That was me...

Thinking I was a bona fide Cville runner. Had a cute outfit on. Ipod in the arm strap. Heart rate monitor ticking away. Enjoying an early morning run.

In mid-stride.

Darned if the next thing I knew...I was practicing what those hot firefighters taught me in Kindergarten.

Stop, drop, and roll.

Except there was no fire.

Just me kissing a sidewalk.

I mentally checked myself to make sure I wasn't seeing pearly gates for that I'm not anxious.

Darned, not yet, there was white cement though, a huge whole in my hand, and road burn on my arm and shoulder.

First thought...good job anne, you're legit.

Second thought...Rascal Flatt's 'Stand' song.

Third thought...get up stat.

Fourth thought...sheesh, let's get this over with and get back to the safety of not the open road.

Moral of the Story: When running or anything in life, as soon as you think you're the 'shi*...you'll fall. Humility is a brat/blessing.
