Meet the Teacher Day

Today was Meet the Teacher Day at my school.  I met almost all of my 2 dozen Smart Cookies.

So in honor of it...let's meet me.

Favorite Shows: Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, Bill & Guiliana, Kardashians, Criminal Midns
Favorite Shoes: Danskos & Tevas
Favorite Color: Green
Favorite Foods: mac and cheese, Chik-Fil-A Spicy Chicken, Yellow/Green Apples, Malt Balls, Strawberry Energy Packets
Favorite Sports: NASCAR, field hockey, UVA sports
Things I cannot live without in my classroom: iPod touch, classical music, fresh dry erase markers, post-its,  the view out my window, IM on my computer (let's me feel in touch with an adult world)
Favorite Subject to Teach: None. I like them all. But, that's how I was in school. Flat line across all subjects.
Favorite moments of the day at school: 7-7:20 at school. The sun is rising. Shadows are long. It's me time. Dan stops in to chat about life. I drink my morning drink, look at emails, savor the priveldge of life I have that day. 7:45-8:15 at school. Sharing life with my kiddos. The world is waking up. Doesn't get much better.
Favorite Goal of the Year: Organization. I have majorly purged my room due to having a bigger class size. I no longer have a teacher desk which I totally volunteered to be given to someone else. I never sat at it. Nor used it. And, it was too tall for the kiddos to use.  It took up too much room and basically held confiscated Bakugans/Solar Systems and layered papers. So, I'll have to be nifty with my new Staples Apprentice.
Guilty Pleasure: Lamination. (I have a few tricks up my sleeve for this since it's not really offerered at my school.) But, it's totally worth it.
Great Classroom Secret: Hot glue things to the walls.

I'm as single as they come but have complete faith in God's Will for my life whether that includes a husband or not.  I love coaching. And, I love that I now seem to have begun to have a niche in Cpep. I truly believe in the fiber of human relationships.  They make the world go round and round. I like to read. The Kindle has helped this. Many say I'm busy. I like to think I'm busy about purpose.  I'm a lefty and I hate cancer.

Moral of the Story: At the end of the day you have tomorrow morning. Darned if that doesn't excite me.
