Interestingly, if you ask our parents what our favorite hobbies were as children. Worth's would be playing tennis...All the time...up against the house. Imagining he was Pete Sampras. Agassi was his favorite though.
I spent my childhood playing school. As in I had a legit classroom (product of parents' teacher friends leftovers). Momma always knew which friends I didn't like at the time because they had all Fs in my grade book. Note: I do not practice this anymore.
Anyway, back to the Proud Sister part. Because I'm putting it in writing. So, I must own my compliment.
I'm proud of my brother.
For knowing that teaching wasn't 100% his thing and then going after his thing. Thing = passion.
He's been pursuing opportunities. Set himself up to be able to make a choice. And chose to take the tennis coach job at Bucknell.
Here's what I love about this...
He followed his passion. His dream. He set himself up for success by commuting to be the Asst. Coaches at CNU and UMW. He networked. He did it.
He followed his passion.
How many of us work with people that you only wish they had an ounce of true, unadulterated passion?
You only wish that they'd have the guts to make a change. Step outside of their comfort zone. Go for it.
The thing about passion. Is if you have it, then it'll carry you through the rollercoaster of the job.
Passion drives the inner fiber.
So, here's to my brother who acknowledged change was needed and created a background and made it work.
And, on a personal note, chose a school that has the same colors as UVA.
Moral of the Story: A proud sister...
