One Word: Community

Community is something I attempt to not underestimate.

However, I am still young at this. I have developed a few different communities over the past few years. And, still waffle between the physical communities in Cpep and Cville.

I don't think you could have wiped the smile off my face Friday-Saturday. Or, decreased the pride I have in the community that raised me. And, at the end of the day, I can only hope to give back an ounce of life to Cpep.
The Queen and Princess. The Queen was at FES when I was there.
So here goes...

Friday AM at the gym: A wonderful mom who kids go to school in another county was making HUGE sugar cookies for each student in the class. She brought me 2 of them and then dropped icing off at my school so that my Smart Cookies could have the same experience as her daughter. And, she 100% created a memory for 22 third graders. There smiles couldn't be stopped. The fun couldn't be stopped. It was pure love.

Great Day for some Hockey
Friday Afternoon: Game time. Although, it was kinda stinky in the sense that Schu couldn't be there. But, the weather was B-E-A-utiful & we did get the activity bus for the far-away game. Well, varsity won 1-0. And, then JV was losing by 2 goals.  Well darned if we didn't make adjustments and show character to fight back in the second half to score 2 goals. It was absolutely so cool to see all the parents cheering on their kids! It was bigger than a win for the young team. And, hopefully it taught a life lesson about never, ever giving up.

Friday PM: First home football game. Past Smart Cookies saved me a spot on their blanket. I visited with them for a while. Then, hung with some friends. Afterward, we went to Ledo's. A totally mixed bag of people. And, we laughed into the night.

Saturday AM: The hockey team staffed the local USDA food giveaway which is at my church. It was awesome to work side by side the team (and a wonderfully Daddy who came to help). Over 313 families received some great food.
Monica as Vanna

Saturday Afternoon:  Begged my Super-duper Relay friend, Monica, to drive me in the Ford Drive for Your School. I absolutely adore her. For every person, who rode or drove they donated $20 to EV Athletics. Pretty cool.  Caught some Smart Cookies soccer and football games and cheerleading. And, caught a cat nap.

Saturday PM: Play for a Change. A worldwide event to share and support music. Cpep did it. It was driven by the 2 people at my school and then the school community joined in to help. You can't beat hearing over 200 kids sing 'Stand by Me.'

Moral of the Story: The heart of this world is communities.
