Surprises

There's nothing better to spice up SOL season than...

  1. Your principal opening your door during complete silent Read to Self to find...your Cville set of parents stopping by for a surprise visit. I may not have eaten lunch, but it was well worth missing for a chat, hugs, and love from them.
  2. The Ice Cream Truck. It's slightly a celebrity here.  Here's a story. Well, I was stretching with the 8th graders, while the other half of the team ran. There bus gets to practice late. We first heard that mystical music out in the county? The giddyness started to arise. Then, it stopped at the baseball field. I made a deal with the girls that if it came by our field, then we could all go. Well, darned if the thing didn't just come on down. The girls and I went sprinting. It started to pull away. I don't think we've ever yelled louder. The music must have been too loud. Sheesh. It finally stopped. The girls were jumping up and down. And, then out from the truck came our AD. O-m-g. Can you say caught? I don't think we've ever laughed so hard. Basically, it's like your boss/principal. But, I wasn't going to ruin the experience. He told us it would stay later. Needless-to-say, the whole team got some ice cream after practice. Of course, we took group pics and discussed what Spiderman's eyes would taste like.
Moral of the Story: By golliday, the memories I'll take from today are not the SOL prep, but these spontaneous moments.
