Preface: I'm not a stick-figured person who exercises all the time and counts every single calorie and then exercises more. I would not classify myself as obsessed.
But, why do I exercise?
I made the 6 AM class on Spring Break. Most would think what's wrong with this picture, I think what's right with this picture.
- It's my java. Starbucks is to many, as Body Combat is to me.
- It destresses and decompresses before any stress can arrive. It mellows me.
- There's nothing better than an extra shot of self-confidence after sprinting the last half mile.
- I like the smell of sweat.
- I love accomplishing new goals.
- I love being along for the 'dirty work' as others set goals and accomplish them.
- Social life. I caught up and met a new friend over a 5K today. While another friend and I worked in a 1.5 hour walk.
- I get to commune with nature.
- I'm hanging out with people outside my typical spheres of influence. I have met and made so many deep relationships with people of all different aspects of life.
- Something is better than nothing.
- All the pros for health.
- I can always try something new to fresh'n it up.
- I learned that the voice in my head that says I can't do something is a complete liar.
- It's the part of my day that I devote to myself.
- It makes me happy.
Moral of the Story: I do believe that research may be right on the effects of daily exercise.
