Relay For Life Weekend-Behind the Scenes

For the past 2 years, Relay For Life has been a year-round pursuit as I co-chaired with terrific 'Aunt Linda' as Facebook calls her.

It's hard to believe this was my 6th year on committee. Holy moly. That's like a 1/4 of my life.

Tons of texting, emailing, organizing, meetings, strategizing, coaching, recruiting, networking, fundraising, attending event, supporting one another, training others, being trained, expressing, advertising/marketing, encouraging, providing customer service, explaining procedures, smiling, creating boundaries, setting standards, practicing best practices, loving others, and more organizing...lead to many steps in the fight against cancer as we find a cure together.

Here are some snapshots from what I see...behind the scenes.

A huge shout-out goes to my friend Alli for another year of doing what most would not do...do whatever I say needs help...we provide transport for all the stuff into the stadium, transport people who need help to and from their cars, pick up trash, close bathrooms for cleaning, sweat, pick up trash, tear down the outside of the stadium at 2 am, throw away more trash, wave to people, solve problems, prevent problems, smile, laugh, give advice, help others, do more trash runs, hold mics, lead people, communicate with Dave since he can't see the inner field, and more and more stuff. And, we laugh and have a blast the whole entire time.

Moral of the Story: No detail is too unimportant. Little things add up to create a great experience for us and others. No one is too big for a small job nor to small for a big job. We must find laughter in all jobs.
