Life Self-Check

Do you ever question your pursuits? Your life? What's the meaning? Why do you wake-up? What do you think when you go to bed? How are you living? Why do you not eat the Knackel's donut? Why do you eat the Knackel's donut? Why do you help this person? Why are you guarded in this area? Why are you liberated in this area? Why do you text this person back immediately? Why do you text this person back later?

The human brain constantly yields to decisions shaped by the soul.

I find myself navigating my life values consistently.

But, it's a few times a year that I robustly reflect on my life. Where I have been. Where I have not been. Where I am. Where I am going. Where I am not going.

These times usually occur on...

  •  the crisp, freshness of a new calendar year.
  • the unveiling of a new year of life in March.
  • the approach of a new school year.
I recognize at an end is a beginning. It's at the end of the year, an end of a year of life, and the end of summer that a beginning occurs.

The beginning is my chance to quite frankly have another chance at intentionally living.

During this time, I think about psychology's core life values (listed in no particular order)...
  • family
  • financial resources
  • friends
  • health & fitness
  • home & place
  • leadership
  • leisure pursuits
  • personal growth
  • public service
  • spirituality
  • work satisfaction
Here's a easy, life-value self assessment test that's free.

While I'm not 100% anchored in the results, it does help me acknowledge my priorities and areas that I thought were priorities that actually aren't.

Life's enlightening. Reflection's even more.
