SCA Speeches

Today, the 4th and 5th graders gave SCA speeches.

It was so inspiring to watch some Smart Cookie alums behind the music stand podium.

It was also so inspiring to reflect on how much each one has developed in terms of leadership.

And, then, like usual I got to thinking.

I'd forgotten about the role SCA played in my character development.

I ran for an office position from 6th to 12th grade.

Thankfully, I won each time.

But, I learned so much about people and interactions. Plus, I gained experience in strategic planning to public speaking to marketing to empathy to understanding the bigger picture of the school climate.

I can only hope SCA plays as much a role in the development for these kiddos as it did for me.

I'm thinking this is 8th grade SCA.

I can't find the senior SCA, but I found the NHS in the yearbook.

Moral of the Story: Today was the beginning of a journey for these kiddos, I can only hope the ride the rollercoaster ride of leadership.
