Momma Monday: Happy Birthday, Anni

27 years ago, I was preparing to deliver our second child at 8 am tomorrow.  I knew this because it was a scheduled delivery, however, we did not know the sex.

Worth was 33 months old.

On March 25th, on the way to the hospital--we dropped Worth off with Grandma, my Mom. Dave's Mom came in the afternoon to stay with Worth and Dave.

After Dave dropped me off at admitting, he locked the keys in the car.  Dave was always a nervous expectant father, but a wonderful daddy.

Anni was born that morning.  I still remember the doctor telling me we had a baby girl.  I remember I kept on saying thank you--it's a girl.   Of course, she was precious.  When Worth met his baby sister, he wanted to name her Punky  Brewster.  We named her Beverly Anne after her two maternal aunts--Anne was my sister who was killed in a horsing accident when she was six and Beverly after my sister Page who is like her second Mom.  Worth had been named after Dave and his Grandfather Richardson.

It has been an absolute blessing and pleasure being Anni's mom. I love being her Mom--now that she is an adult I love being her friend too.

I still look at Anni and Worth, my grown babies, and marvel at who they are and wonder when did they grow up ?  It seems like only yesterday that we were playing "Mother May I",  "Green Light, Red Light", and playing Bambi, Faline, and Momma.  Nightly, Dave and I reading each of them their own 2 bedtime stories.  These are the wonderful, ordinary experiences that make my life so extraordinary.  When I look at Anni and Worth--I see the proof of God.

Happy Birthday, my precious "baby girl".  Wishing you many healthy, purposeful, love filled years of ordinary experiences that make your life extraordinary.
