Sweet Southern Comfort

What a different week this week is already compared to last?

Last week, I lived out of my luggage bag. I spent hours traveling on school nights. Sure, I was negating the fact that I have a 'real' job; yet, I can do it because I'm young.

While I was stepping outside of my comfort zone last week, today reminded me of how important comfort is--comfort food, comfort with friends, words of comfort. Here are some glimpes of Sweet Southern Comfort in my life today.

~This verse greeted me during my devotional.
And I praise you because of the wonderful way you created me. Everything you do is marvelous! Of this I have no doubt. With your own eyes you saw my body being formed. Even before I was born, you had written in your book everything I would do. -Psalm 139:14
~T sent me an encouraging email. It made me smile. Who doesn't love words of comfort?
~Momma Pilot (colleague), Captain Mike, Daddy, Momma, Grams and I went to iHop before the anticipated a capella concert at EVHS. It was great to get to know them better. We shared some great laughs (mostly courtesy of Grams). Laughter is comforting.
~AVP and Hullabahoos performed at the concert. I felt comforted that I shared the unique UVA experience with them. Maybe, I'm starting to get the whole 'alma mater thing.'
~Last but not leastly, my bed is pretty comforting!

Moral of the Story: Stepping outside your comfort zone only matters when you know what brings you comfort and you know how to cherish it.
