Thank goodness Christina is a teacher because she arrived at feeding time for 5 girls + 1 adult. She fit right in.
The visit involved maneuvering 'adult' conversations around the girls and their activities. Another thank goodness-she is a teacher and innately has the skill to return to an incomplete sentence from 10 minutes prior.
Of course, we hit up Whole Foods to run around to all the samples. FAIL! They weren't out yet. But, score! Christina was able to get her 'big girl' diploma frames from UVA. And major score!, we were able to physically be in the same space. And triple score!, Christina brought me my tax return check that I left in her car back in April (totally forgot about it...eek!)
It was fun for all! Which is always a win-win.
Moral of the Story: The miles may separate us, but you know a true friend when she walks in the door and conversation/life/friendship carries on as if you never left one another.
The pic is of Christina reading to my class during Christmas time.
