I cannot express the joy I am filled with in my life. Following your passions make life worth living.
- Student: "Ms. R, I think I know how to cure my toothache. Come here." He hugs me and knocks the air out. "Ms. R, I think it's cured."
- Student: "What do you enjoy doing?" Me: "I like NASCAR races." Student: "I enjoy working in my lab at home."
- Student: "Ms. Richardson, can I stay here with you this weekend?"
- Class kickball at 8:30 AM. (savor it now, before SOLs)
- First field hockey game: We won!!!! 2-0...I cannot tell you how happy this makes me (more to come on this later.) Plus, I looked over to the sideline half way in to see my Momma, Grandma, Daddy, Aunt, Uncle, and Brother. Thanks family for supporting me.
- I rushed over to Jenna's Rehearsal Dinner after the game. (I did change out of my coaching clothes and into a dress-for all of you who voiced your concern. No makeup though).
- It was a beautiful dinner with friends and family to celebrate Little Jenna getting married.
- This news article (just click here) was a pleasant affirmation and acknowledgment from the local newspaper about the success my school, Farmington, creates amongst having the highest free-and-reduced lunch percentage (about 60%) and lowest socio-economic status percentages in the county.
- Mr. Mello, the principal at where I coach ended his pep-up speech before the big cross-county game tonight this way..."Ladies, I was in the office when a new teacher walked by and said, 'who is this clown on the front of the paper?'" I came out and realized it was Mr. Richardson (Worth) saying this and there was his sister on the front page.
- Teacher friends fbook status: "people just don't get it. during the first month of school, do not bother me with crap other than teaching, eating or sleeping."
- I lost my voice coaching tonight.
- The weather has been absolutely nice and beautiful.
Moral of the Story: "Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
