Cliff Notes Answer: Absolutely Not!
In the past few days, the 2 words 'grad school' have come up a few times.
I just finished video chatting my beautiful friend Ellen. She's swamped and in the midst of the sprint to the end of the semester. Do I miss that? Nope.
Today, Momma Pilot began Grad School. She quickly realized she was signed up and had done reading for the wrong class. Do I miss that? Nope.
Rebecca g-chatted me last night mentioning she's jealous that I graduated in December. Do I miss the thesis? Nope.
Christina is about to hurt my beloved Charlottesville due to 'just being over it.' Do I miss that? Nope.
I had a great conversation with my friend John last night who went to UVA and works in Richmond. We were discussing 'real life.' I can't really say I miss anything yet. Maybe, it's been too soon or maybe I'm just trying to keep my head high and live in the moment. But, I do know for a fact it made me extremely happy to throw ~2,000 flashcards into the bonfire once I graduated. And, I do know for a fact that I am looking extremely forward to May 23 when I get to trot down the lawn with my friends wearing our baby blue (not Tarheel blue!) stolle.
Moral of the Story: I enjoy teaching, not being a student right now.
Oh graduate school. I love it, but it makes me so tired.
ReplyDeleteI just contemplated leaving graduate school to become a professional laminator, fulfilling all my type-A dreams. Maybe it's a sign I need a mental break!
