The annual Autism 5K was this AM.
5Ks aren't really my thing.
The thought of sprinting for 3 miles is...ehh.
But, if you throw in some friends or family or a good cause. I'll come.
My friend Alli just started running. We've met up a few times to run. So, it was really exciting for her and some others friends to complete their first 5K. What a triumph. They're not easy.
Alli and I always have random adventures. We're always up for something new together. She's great at that. I love that we live our lives, then pop in an adventure, then live our lives. I love that quality about her.
However, I do think the part of my day when my heart beat the fastest was not during the 5K, but when they were wrapping up the awards ceremony.
They announced that know one had claimed the winning ticket door prize ticket for the Kindle Fire. They said they'd read it again and then draw another.
Well, low and behold, who never checked her tickets? Me.
For 2 reasons, like I'd win the grand prize and they were locked in the car kind of far away (ok, just 25 yards).Well, once the wheels started turning that perhaps that Kindle Fire Bundle could be mine. I got my sprint on.

If you need a stunt double, Hollywood, call me up! I dashed through the parking lot, dodging cars, gracefully saying I couldn't talk, (I was on a mission), dove into the backseat...
I felt like Charlie with the golden ticket.
There it was. And, I came running back...slightly yelling that I've got the ticket!
Sheesh. I was out breath then. But, the Kindle Fire is now nestled on the kitchen counter with all his accessories.
Moral of the Story: Sometimes you run for fun. Sometimes you run with a ferocious purpose.
