It's the epitome of almost everything I stand for. Love it.
Have the DVR set for days. I'm ready.
Some quick tid bits:
- UVA is in the games! 2 Swimmers that I actually know. I can say we definitely have hung out and shared some life. Matt McLean and Lauren Perdue...wahoowa!
- The UK has it's first Women's National Soccer Team in the games. They won yesterday.
- 1 billion people are expected to watch the Opening Ceremony.
- 10,000 volunteers are a part of the ceremony.
- London has hosted the games twice before in 1908 and 1948.
- 205 nations will compete
- Olympic Stadium will have a capacity of 80,000. Yet, it's the lightest stadium ever build (now, how does someone quantify that?)
- There's a 27-ton bell used in the Opening Ceremony.
- Everything in London is in metrics and it's hard for me to convert.
The girl with the long curly hair is currently at UVA. She had a sister swim there, as well.
A def must watch...
