Rolling with the punches...

1) My kids are still getting rewarded with Clearance Valentine's Day candy.
2) Pete from Pete's Pizza gave us a 2 ft long loaf of homemade French Bread last night. I used it to reteach fractions. I will never forget the image I had in my head as I 'broke the bread' in half like Jesus from the Last Supper in front of 20 jaw-dropped students.
3) To all my friends from this weekend that I repeatedly made known my desire for a plum, I got one tonight.
4) Good news-Christina found my VA tax return check in her backseat from this weekend.
5) Steph got us Zac Brown Band tickets today.
6) Tomorrow is the last day of classes at UVA. Here's to all of ya'll for doing it. What a nostalgic time. The emotions change every hour as your realize your 'lasts.'
7) Happy memories from this weekend. Ed School Kat's wedding. (borrowed from Christina's blog)
8) Nashville is flooded. This pic is from Ellen's and my visit last year. The water is feet deep in the buildings now.

9) Today a tragedy occurred. It's never good when Momma calls and begins, "Did you hear what happened at UVA?" Immediately and sad-to-say my heart dropped and I thought there had been a shooting. Granted it was not a tragedy of that sort, but still a sad and cloudy day at the University.

Moral of the Story: I never know what the day holds for me, you, and our community. It may be happiness, it may be laughter in the little moments, it may be sadness in tragedy. But, through it all God is with me, you, and our community.

My Bible verse from the devotional book I stole from Ellen (good Christian, eh?), "I look behind me and you're there, then up ahead and you're there, too--your reassuring presence, coming, and going. This is too much, too wonderful-I can't take it all in!" Psalm 139 1-6

It's not my plan, it's Yours.
