It all started when I moved in with the Williams...
T gracefully prances around the kitchen filled with knowledge and certainty. D walks around the house with a swagger and could clean tar out of a white shirt. Even H can work a Kitchenaid Mixer as easy as she can tie her shoes.
Being surrounded by such domestication, made me challenge myself to try one new domesticated task a week. A feat that sometimes was met late on Sunday nights.
D taught me how to do laundry (yes, I confess). T taught me to knit. Christina aided me in making homemade pie crust on the Williams' counter.
Well tonight, my uncle and I had a date. The domesticated feat was to 'detail' Blizzard and wash him. Well 3 hours after the task begun, a soaking wet Anni and Uncle Jimmy emerged with a glimmering blizzard.
Just as T & D gave me tips to accompany the domesticated tasks, here is what Uncle Jimmy taught me about taking care of Blizzard inside and out.
1) Simple Green is just short of the holy trinity. It's importance parallels that of Windex in the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
2) I want a Shot Vac ASAP...we could be good friends.
3) You have to get up and stand on the tires to scrub Blizzard's scalp.
4) You can never have too much Simple Green sprayed on Blizzard's skin.
5) I shouldn't have worn running shoes because they are soaked.
It was fun to spend sometime with my Uncle. He's awesome. Gets up every morning at 4:30 to go to work, had knee replacement surgery during the real, snowy Blizzard, yet he always has been there for Worth and I. He even invited me back in the near future to 'wax' Blizzard-a 4 hour process.
Moral of the story: I may be able to give Amelia Bedelia a run for her money!
PS~ And, I whipped some brownies up when I got home!
