$209,000

It was about that much that was recognized this past weekend at the South Atlantic Division Relay Leadership Conference.

$209,000...6-digits...raised by Culpeper participants to fight cancer.

I love Relay because I have gained so many close friends through it, Relay gives me an opportunity to fight back to save lives, and it gives me hope.

Here are some images from this past weekend's road trip down to Smith Mountain Lake for an awesome, inspiring weekend. I left with a sense of urgency that although we have made so many strides in the fight against cancer (75% of states are smoke free in public places & 44 Nobel Peace Prize Researchers have been funded, cancer deaths have decreased)...we have so much more to go...

Moral of the Story: Don't give up. Don't lose hope. Don't sell out. ~ Christopher Reeve
So, true...it's easy to say I've done my part. I've raised money. I've done this. I've done that. Well, guess what? I haven't done enough. I want my students or grandkids to say 'What was cancer?'
