Saying Hi to Sasha & Malia-January 2010

Ellen shared a friend with me-Logan. They have and remain the closest of friends. Something to be cherished.

Thanks to the generosity of Ellen, we all became friends. So, then, there were 3 of us. We have shared trips to Hilton Head, Bristol, Sonic, and DC. We have shared food, beds, Dr. Quinn episodes, exercise tips, makeup tips, and too many drinks. But, we have shared even more--our lives. From heartbreak to date preparation...from weaknesses to strengths...from laughter to tears...from hopes/dreams to failures...

We 3 are exactly the same. We 3 are exactly different. We're open, acknowledging, receptive, giving, pure, and real.

Ellen is in DC. Logan is in Timbuktu, TN. I'm in Culpeper. They're rocking Grad Schoool. The classroom is rocking me. And, it works for us.

We have a quote chain email. It represents what we're contemplating, ruminating, and feeling. It works for us.

"growth means change and change involves risk, stepping from the known to the unknown."

When nothing goes right...go left.

"some people are settling down, some people are settling and some people refuse to settle for anything less than butterflies" -sex and the city

oh, sex and the city:
"the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous."

"In God, our identity is one of an adopted child, a chosen love."
(it references Genesis 17:3-9)

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” - Marianne Williamson

"You never know what may cause them. The sight of the Atlantic Ocean can do it, or a piece of music, or a face you've never seen before. A pair of somebody's old shoes can do it. ... You can never be sure. But of this you can be sure. Whenever you find tears in your eyes, especially unexpected tears, it is well to pay the closest attention. They are not only telling you something about the secret of who you are, but more often than not God is speaking to you through them of the mystery of where you have come from and is summoning you to where, if your soul is to be saved, you should go next."
-fredrich buechner (MY BOYYY!)

"All I want is a tall guy with a beer in one hand and a Bible in the other."~ Ellen Stafford & Anne Richardson
insert from logan: "or a qu'ran, who is also of ethnicity."

Moral of the Story: Hey, I don't need therapy. I need friends! Carrie from Sex & the City
