Every season of hockey, I broke or hurt something. Why should a season of coaching be any different?
Well last Thursday, I asked a girl to hit the ball to me as I modeled a move I wanted the girls to do. Needless-to-say, her aim was just perfect and nailed my hand. The pain was immediate.
On Friday, I needed to get to the doctor so that Worker's Comp would cover it. How lame is that? Hurt coaching. Thanks to some wonderful medical friends, I was in. Thanks to a wonderful school, my class was covered. The x-ray flashed up. And, it was definitely in 2 pieces.
After a customized cast later (due to the environment of a 3rd classroom--aka: zoo for a broken finger), I was on my way.
Cool Facts: the trainer thought it was jammed, this is my 10th broken finger, and it's my middle finger
Moral of the Story: When life breaks your middle finger, embrace it.
